Now, the details . . .
What is Dinner Parties – Fast Track?
This is a streamlined version of Dinner Parties For Fun And Profit. This Fast Track program is intended for those individuals who already have their home-based culinary business in operation. Generally, this means a Personal Chef Service. You will not find any of the administrative, business set-up, marketing, etc. included – as you can simply apply your existing business practices and policies to this new Dinner Party Service, with only minor tweaks.
But the same as Dinner Parties For Fun And Profit, this condensed version still includes the identification of the four most sought-after dinner party possibilities. A dinner party is not just a dinner party. Will this be interactive (a lot of fun for everyone), formal, a traditional casual or semi-casual event, or you may become the secret chef. And the word “dinner” is not mean that this type event can’t be more of a lunch or afternoon type gathering – still applying the styles as requested by your client. So don’t allow the clock to determine when you can provide your service. That said, from feedback in the field, expect 85+% of your events to take place during the dinner hour time frame.
Your client will have some idea of what this event will be like, but will greatly rely on you for all those loose strings. After all, you are the professional. Organization and checklists will absolutely prevent something important not being addressed. And just as a Personal Chef service, you must always over-deliver. Even the smallest unexpected something that puts the cherry on top – will be remembered by the client – thus, word-of-mouth or even a repeat event. All of this is detailed within the marketing and selling sections of this program.
Now for the always asked, initial questions & concerns.
What will you learn from this program, in simple terms
You’ll learn how to market and sell your Dinner Party service. Just because you are “open”, doesn’t mean anybody will automatically show up wanting your service.
You’ll learn about client management. Even with you providing the dinner party “nuts-and-bolts”, your client will have some required responsibilities as well.
You’ll learn what your service is worth. What will you price an event at? That depends greatly on what the event is, the food cost associated, and what extra details you may be asked to perform (renting equipment, centerpieces, bar tender, etc.)
And we’ll walk you through an event – from initial client interaction until you are packed up and driving away.
How long will it take to complete this program?
Since this is a self-directed program, you are in charge of how long you’ll spend within each lesson. We always advise that this is a marathon, not a sprint. Going as fast as possible does not always produce excellent results. If you are gung-ho, plan on at least one week, because you will need to interact with local authorizes regarding proper licensing, registering a business name, evaluating insurance options, setting up your office and mobile kitchen, etc.
How can starting a Dinner Party Service be viable in a questionable economy?
In-home culinary events and entertaining have been on a steady rise for more than a decade, and people are looking for a more intimate, comfortable setting. The country club, fraternal lodge or other banquet hall facilities will always have their place, but given the option to enjoy a first class event in the comfort of a warm inviting home always gets two thumbs up.
Entertaining has been a constant, through economic good times and slow periods. Only the methods and venues change. Considering you can offer a very nice event for less than the large halls can, and given that the prestige of attending such an event which has a Personal Chef involved brings the value up even that much more. A full time Dinner Party Service is rare. This interesting service is far more attractive as a part time gig, and/or as an added revenue source to an existing Personal Chef
Service. By offering dinner parties you can experience the pleasures of your craft and share your skills while being rewarded both financially and through customer satisfaction.
Unlike a traditional Personal Chef Service, a Dinner Party Service is priced vastly different. There are substantial variables in your role, depending on the type of dinner party is selected. In any situation, your organizational skills need to be very good, plus attention to detail. Regardless of the type dinner party provided, you are the main ingredient, in which this event simply could not go on without you.
Will you be renting equipment? Will you require an added staff member (casual labor).
Will you be in charge of the table – settings, linens, centerpieces(s), etc.
Not to worry, as we have you covered for all the above. If you have a solid handle on how to run and administer a business and want to add a new revenue source that almost never conflicts with a Personal Chef Service – then let’s get you going!
